Recently Police Commissioner Bratton and NYPD's Chief of Department James O'Neillinvited all police union heads to learn more about some of the Department's newest units. 

최근에 경찰청장 Bratton과 뉴욕경찰국장 James O'Neill은 새로운 경찰장비를 배우기 위해 모든 경찰 조합원들을 초대했습니다.

 

The demonstrations began at the the Strategic Response Group command in the Bronx and then moved to the NYPD's Critical Response Command, a new and highly trained counterterrorism unit.

새로운 장비에 대한 시범은 SRG대원들의 시연회 후에 새롭게 고도로 훈련된 대테러 대원들인 CRC대원들이 새로운 장비 시연회를 했습니다.

 

Two years ago, I asked the members of the New York City Police Department for their input in how to make the Department fairer, more efficient, and safer—for the public and officers alike.

In addition to the new equipment,

I’m ensuring that our members have the proper training and certification for the items they’ll receive. 

Our cops will be fully versed in the latest skills and techniques for safe and fair policing. 

 

All of our cops will continue to receive a three-day refresher of law-enforcement fundamentals, 

and I’m committed to making sure that more will get Crisis Intervention Team training.

 

We are also continuing to improve the technology available to cops in the street.

 

 Smartphones and tablets are already deployed throughout the city, and they’re changing

how cops work for the better. Finally, we are launching a pilot program for dual-band radios that

officers can use both on the street and in the transit system, solving

a decades-old communications problem that made going in the hole dangerous for patrol cops.

 

I strongly believe that the new equipment, training, and technology you are receiving will

make the job safer for you, your fellow cops, and the public you serve. 

 

I’ve been a cop for more than 40 years and I know that law enforcement is a dangerous profession. 

 

But the Mayor, your executive leaders, and I are committed to making sure that 

we continue to keep all the men and women of the NYPD as safe as possible.

기본적으로 레벨 3A등급 (대부분의 권총탄은 방어 가능) 방탄조끼를 유니폼 셔츠 안에 착용을 합니다.

 

하지만 소총에 대한 방어가 불가능하기 때문에 그위에 소총 방어가 가능한 방탄 플레이트가 수납된 조끼를 지급하여 소총급 무기로 무장한 테러리스트 혹은 액티브 슈터에 대한 대응을 할 수 있습니다.
